Ridiculously easy to find – there are surf schools, surf shops, backpackers and restaurants galore.
Muizenberg is the defacto beginner wave in South Africa (the world?). It is a slow and crumbly wave that on a low tide breaks from far out (sometimes 500m) all the way to the beach. On a high tide the ride can be short but it’s still fun.
Perfect wind is a light North Westerly, but you can learn to surf here in any wind.
Any tide, except on very high tides, including spring tides, the rides can be very short and there can be a fun little backwash wave.
The perfect place to learn how to surf. Come down, get a lesson or hire a wet suit and board.
